Weather Information

Post by Nunners »

Does anyone know of a good Open Source Weather service, which has data for the UK?

I'm trying to get a weather service on my website, however as it is based on the UK, I need UK data - NOAA doesn't give it to me!

Anyone got any experience?

Thanks :D

This would be very useful to me too. We did a search for this recently and didn't find anything to suit our needs (we're linking out to the BBC web site instead). You may want to look at the services you can buy from the Met Office - they did some reasonable deals if you just need information for a particular city or two.

I want my users to be able to type in their zip code at registration, and each time they login, they'll see a small weather report on the side of the screen.

Doesn't wunderground.com offer a service like that?

Wunderground is great, if you live in the US. If you are UK based, then there isn't anything I can find.....

Tried: BBC, Yahoo and loads of other places.

I want visitor's to the website to be able to see the weather of the area they are visiting (Central England, UK) directly on that page - I plan on using i-frames..... but no-one will do it for free!!!! So back to the drawing board!

I know http://www.weather.com has free xml feeds available and they also have International sites, uk.weather.com, so maybe you could make that work.
