Not sure where to start

Post by MikeW »

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask the following question but here goes. We're looking for a someone or a company we can hire to plan/advise/program a cart. First we will need advice on the steps needed to accomplish the flow of the cart. Second we need advice on a cart that would work best with the programming needed. Third we will need programming to accomplish the cart function.
In a nutshell the cart needs to be able to generate a proof from the text the customer inputs (Like custom text on a t-shirt). So basically the text the customer inputs would overlay the image.

Any ideas where to start?

First, I think you need to reconsider your requirements. I counted three as you indicated, but they are extremely vague. You need far more detail than that if your looking for a developer.

When a client gives me a requirement list of three items I know they have not invested much time or consideration into the project which means they have little to lose if the project fails.

Look at existing open source solutions. Start Googling you'll find a tonne of pre-made solutions.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex, thanks' for replying. Your right, it is vague, that's why I noted that we need someone to plan what we need. I basically have the vision and need a person/company to help in selecting and designing the flow of the cart.
I've been looking for a while now and haven't found a pre-made cart that can generate proofs within the cart. However I've seen many websites accomplish the task, just don't know which cart is their foundation. Anyone have any ideas on a cart that can overlay customer provided text on an image thus generating a proof for a product? Example: Business Card - Customer could type text into box, the text shows up on a .jpg of the card (Overlay) for the customer to see and approve.

Thanks for any help
God Bless
