How does certification offered by Or'eilly school of technology measure up to ZEND?

O'Reilly has a good reputation in relation to their reference books, however I was unaware of their certification programmes until I saw your post.
An immediately noticeable difference is the cost, as you would be spending in excess of $1K to receive the relevant certification from O'Reilly as opposed to a couple of hundred spondoolas for the ZCE.
As to the relative merit of each, I don't know. Anyone else on the boards with experience of the O'Reilly School of Technology?

I checked the ZEND certfication package and found out that it is in the $1000 while that of O'reilly is three times less.

In the case of Zend, the exam costs $125.00. As with offerings from Cisco, Microsoft etc you do not need to follow Zend's own training programme to sit the exam, so you could for instance learn relatively cheaply via a combination of
online resources and books from the library, which might include those published by
O'Reilly themselves.
The individual courses offered by the O'Reilly School of Technology come in at $398.00 each,
this link refers, and to achieve certification you must sit four modules - although if you pay for these all at once you will receive a good discount and it totals out at $995.00.
Unless of course I have misinterpreted what Zend/O'Reilly are saying on their websites ... which is all too possible!

According to me o'reilly is the best for learning PHP. It will clear your all the concepts and doubts. You can get all the difficulties from here.

Thank you. Would you estimate how long it takes to prepare for a PHP certification?

The only reason I do certifications is to prove things to myself. To test myself. I've never had a client ask for one, nor do most care. If you do impressive work they don't care what you tell them. Most just care about what you can actually do.
If you as the programmer don't see the clear benefit to one certification over another, what makes you think the customer cares? If all you want to do is impress the customer make up your own certification company.

There are some side benefits to some qualifications, such as a LinkedIn listing if you follow the ZCE route - obviously the (potential) usefulness of that will vary from developer to developer.
