Help!

Post by philip_melvin_french_iii »

Getting ready to graduate from a one-year IT program and go on an internship. The company has recommend this site (specifically with regard to "forum or chat php classes"). I have about 5 days to learn the rudiments of php.
I'm sort of a slow learner, but do have a few weeks experience with HTML and ASP. How about a little guidance?

ah yes, the almighty online manual.
If you manage to work through the first two chapters that will be a good start
Table of Contents
Preface
I. Getting Started

1. Introduction
2. A simple tutorial
3. Installation
4. Runtime Configuration

II. Language Reference

5. Basic syntax
6. Types
7. Variables
8. Constants
9. Expressions
10. Operators
11. Control Structures
12. Functions
13. Classes and Objects
14. References Explained
(maybe you can skip I.3 and I.4 for now)

http://se.php.net/tips.php might be worth looking into also. You can make a quick reference in alot of applications/browsers out there, and I personally find it handy.

Downloading the manual with usercomments is also a recommendation if you are coding in an intranet only (no outer access, wierd, but it happens).
