Yeah, haven't noticed that
Sofia, BG is $0.67 USD per MBps, the next (2nd place) town/country has $1.09 USD rate per MBps which is almost twice as much as in Sofia/Bulgaria. Fabulous
A friend if mine has started building a passive fibre optics ISP network. I.e. there are only two active devices - media converter at the client and fibre optic switch port at the technical center. In other words - one fibre optic, one client
Still not come a fashion though, but more and more ISPs started to offer it.

That's what we had here 3 years ago. Since then ISPs stopped offering it (it's still fibre last mile, but copper to apartment) 'cause copper is cheaper for end user and there's no actual demand for speed exceeding 100Mbps yet.
According to my friend, fibre optics itself is cheaper than U/F/SF/TP. Only the media converter (~30$) is a bit more expensive, but it's paid back in a few months because of the lower support related costs.
Almost every ISP here offers telephony/TV over Ethernet, so it's critical to have 100Mbit connectivity to endusers.
