Crap movie hackers...

I just got done watching "The Core", awful *&^% movie..
I get sick of how hollywood portrays "hackers", they use lingo that may confuse the general public but not people who actually deal with technology, then they show a screen shot of some little graphical pc screen supposedly doing "hacker-things" but to me looks like it was designed for elementary kids..
Sorry for ranting but.. come on!

Yeah, lol
I see most movies - they display a screen with objects that look like it was made in MS Paint. I think they're trying to avoid Windows lol.
But yeah, the MOST realistic I've seen was at Antitrust. Where they actually displayed some code. I noticed the <tr><td> and all.
Maybe they want to save cash on a computer advisor or so.

The problem with movies and hackers (or crackers to be technically rather than media-driven correct) is that a standard cracker's screen is mind numbingly boring for the general movie watching populace.
Think you'd get rave ratings if you showed a screen with a konsol or dos window, a telnet window and some naff script-kiddie-has-vb-first-effort as the display.
The use of tron like system internal views (on movies like Hackers - splendid film, 'specially Ms Jolie in the swimming pool) is simply a media gimmick to make something look interesting to those who don't know.
In much the same manner as cars exploding in accidents/shootouts/cliff-falls.

It's show biz dude.. and all they do is glorify the <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span>....
frankly... they think they are good at it.. and masses may believe.. but not people who know the stuff... I think they should stop spending money on hot-babe-seducing scenes and hire some computer pro to make things look real. these days even kids on home PC knows what they show in movies.
