Java Update for Windows problems?

I have been using NetBeans now for about 7 months, being built on Java means I frequently try and keep the runtime up and running with the latest.

My version has been stuck at version 6 Update 21 for a while now and I have tried updating several times over a few weeks and get a connection error.

Clicking the "Agree and Start Free Download" button doesn't work - and hasn't for a while. Pretty sure it's not a network/firewall issue as I can't download from my blackberry either.

Anyone else been having issues with downloading Java updates for Windows?

Cheers,
Alex

I tend to find it regularly springs up with a, "There is a new version of Java ready to download / install," or something like that. I'll agree and the download begins, then I receive a message saying nothing was installed as the existing version of JRE was already up to date...

Neither are changes to scheduled updates (for Java) applied through the Windows Control Panel successfully applied.

So different issues really, but perhaps indicative of a range of problems.

I think the problem is Java in general :p

My blackberry constantly crashes and craps out or freezes. I'm a true hater of anything Java now...I switched from Eclipse because I constantly received exceptions, not NetBeans i pulling pranks. I updated from 6.9.1 to 7 and that seems to have corrected the issue I had with the IDDE this morning, but siltl.
