Hi my name is Bjarni and im from Iceland.
I want to setup a web with auctions. stores and so forth.. ive set it up, and now im translating it to icelandic. i have done that for the most parts but will be working on it with school. i have this problem.
1. in icelandic we have charecters in our alphabet. like á é í ú æ ð þ ý ó ö. If a user try to register with those charecters they get this message:
The operation could not be performed because one or more error(s) occurred.
Please resubmit the form after making the following changes:
The "Address" field cannot be empty
The "City" field cannot be empty
The "Email Address" field must contain a valid email address
The "Email Address" and "Retype Email Address" fields must match
Now i just tried that to copy the text. If i how ever use none icelandic charecters its fine.
How can i fix this?
2. The same problem is when i try make description on a ithem that i would try to sell. So same problem there.
3. In english when in admin area set text in about us, it apear on the stie when in english language, however in the text box for icelandic it wont. this is for announchments too...
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem :=)

The problem will be in the code that validates input that needs adjusted, however, since it is commercial software, we can't just go download a copy and look at it. Your best bet will probably be to contact the company that sells it. They would also be able to advise if the extended characters being allowed would impact other functionality elsewhere (as examples, but probably unlikely), if they dynamically use the username as a variable, or say as a table name, or a filename, etc.

Your first port of call should be the official Probid support forum - http://www.phpprobidforum.com/ - you will need to have a valid customer login from them to access it though.
Also a user run phpprobid support site is here: http://probid.the-talk.net/
To view some parts of the forum you will need to contact the forum admin to verify that you have a Probid auction site, as some of the posts may be related to security issues and so can't be seen by members of the general public.
