Hi Guys. I am new to this forum and have been told there is a lot of very cleaver developers on the network.
So i have a question. I have just launched my site, but now need to get users. I want to try the impossible. i want to get 1 000 000 users in 3 months. Sound impossible but i would like to try.
Any ideas how i can do this with out spamming peoples mail boxes.
Any advise would be appreciated.

If only there was a simple idea my websites would be a lot more active!
Offer them something free to sign-up? run a competition to win a imac but requires signup first.
Problem is once a use has signed up I doubt they would be back for more!

Well, this is not possible that you will get visitors like this which you mentioned, but if you want to try then you should focus on quality seo, smo and do some ppc for your site which definitely helps to promote your site well.

A million users In 3 months?! I don't think you should be asking developers about how to build a user base. You should be asking PR people.
These days spamming only <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> people off and chases them away from your site.
You'll need to spend money like a drunken sailor. You'll need to advertise. You'll need great PR people. You'll need something to go viral. You'll need a site that is better than your competition. You'll need skilled people to scale up your site successfully as it grows. You'll need to get main articles on reddit /. TechCrunch, etc. etc.
And let us know how close you get after the first 3 months and how much you spent to get there.
