There is a domain name we know of that has expired and is available.
But for a number of reasons, we would like to find out when it expired.

Is that publicly available or would we need to contact Nominet?

There are some places that have historical WHOIS information, but a couple I know of want money before you can see that.

I haven't seen any such tool. You can watch only the expiration date of a live domain, I think.
