This App Cannot run on this pc

Post by simonmlewis »

Hi

I installed utox the other day, but have had issues, so decided to uninstall, but it won't!
When I try, via Control panel or an App like Revo Uninstaller, it pops up the blue message to say "This app can't run on this pc".
The folder where it is stored is just under AppData, and there are four files.

I cannot delete the folder.

So how do I force it to bin it?

The download from their site is just a .exe contained in a .zip. Did you have to actually install it, or is it just something you run?

It was installed. It shows up in Control Panel. However, I downloaded another unstinaller that also checks the registry and removes it all from there.

Is uTox a good or bad thing? It seemed good, but a bit of a faff. Plus if you meet someone and use it, and then send u images, there is no way to view the images without downloading, which in itself is terribly insecure!!!

Never heard of it, and what I see on their website makes me cringe. There are links to three different GitHub projects under three different users (who are named "irungentoo", "notsecure", and "grayhatter") while there are no links to the same project under the "uTox" organization.

Did you notice how I implied that I downloaded their .zip but didn't run that .exe to see what it was? Yeah.
