Is there a old Scar to USB cable available?

We want to convert two videos into DVD formats. They play ok in our old VCR.
But we need to connect it to a PC. We have Scarts, but no adapter. It's Scart only on the back. How would we connect it to a PC, so software can read it and convert?

You need an analog to digital converter between the VCR and computer. Maybe just send it to a conversion service.

I've got the required cables now. So it's a Scart plug with rca on the rear.
RCA then goes to USB which goes into the laptop.
Question is, how do I 'play' on the VCR and make it output to the PC, and then record? I've found some software called Movavi Video, but there is no input for VCR or whatever it sees it as. Also, when I plug the USB in, it says it is unrecognised.
So am still rather stuck.

As I said, I think you have analog output from the VCR, but you need digital input into the USB. So you need something inline to digitize the analog signal. Once you have that then you start your recording software and then just press Play on the VCR.

I did ask a shop but they were talking of quite a lot of money.
