Ahh, I remember those days.

Ack! I am getting old! Okay, at 23, I am probably <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> in a lot of pools with that statement. But it's bad when you start saying that.

Having grown up in the 80's and early nineties, pre-internet, pre-dvd, I can say I remember a lot of those things mentioned. Heck, I remember my parks were iron and concrete. Now they are all padded and rounded and idiot-proof.

It's not that I don't think safety is important. You just have to question the direction everything is headed. Sometimes I wonder, and worry, that one person's vendetta will upset the way of life us American's fought for.
We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits. They were accidents. We learnt not to do the same thing again.
Yes, the lost art of tree-forts. I think anyone who never create a tree-fort is seriously lacking in basic fundamental childhoodism. That was the corner stone of many afternoons. Not only in creating the tree-forts, but having them come crashing down.

Boy, I miss those days.

And the crazy thing is, despite all the safety stuff, guns are freelly available across the pond..

Oops. I'll be getting spam from Chuck Heston now.

wait bech, in your time you had Atari!! don't forget :D i've seen one in my life, but doesn't work anymore...

the stuff that were made in the past were guaranteed to last, nowadays you have to buy a dumb warranty, cuz everything breaks after the month the free warranty covers...

i used to go to the little forest at the back of my house, there i used axes and machetes to cut trees and make fortresses, little houses and stuff...
i had war with my friends and used home made rock-throwing guns and aluminum shields :D

we climbed high in the threes, claimed that our territory, cooked food in the forest(eggs and salami ), and i didn't have to be at a certain time in my house, i went for dinner and went back outside to play games in the dark.

we played "the bottle" in the backyard of our houses, in which there are girls and guys around a bottle, u spin it, and if it aligns two ppl of different sex u had to kiss that person, yes yes, it was neat, i was 10 at that time

i lived in Dominican Republic, it now has almost the same advances in technology like in US if i'm not mistaken, i lived in the city of Santo Domingo, far to the east, a place that wasn't crowded with cars and stuff, everything was calm :)

i am sorry for this generation, it's making ignorants, people who say i don't get it and they don't even try to understand stuff, that drives me mad...

if you were asking yourself, i'm 15 years old, and i was born in 89 and i truly agree with bech, and i stand and shout loudly that our future is not in our childrens anymore (i don't have kids, but i truly believe in that). people don't study, they don't have to, they'll work at McDonalds or Burguer King or KFC and forget what a salary is...

my first nintendo was in english so i didn't know wtf i did when i pressed A in some weird menu :D

good luck everybody, keep it up
