I need one more semester and I'm finished with college. I'm wanting to move to either another state in the US or out of the us completely ( hopefully the later ), but I have no idea which would be the most benefical.

Where would you all go?

I was thinking something like Australia or Phoenix, AZ.

Dunno where php coders are most saught out.

well, when i am done with college and uni i am planning on moving to US, 90% of my clients have been from US, coverting $ into £ is not a very good deal when it comes to payment 8O.

i would suggest you stay where you are and work from there :P.

Definately not around Asia, too much Microsoft-ness around here. It's all ASP.NET developers =(. Though I'd love to live next to Jason or Mac .

Heh, I really might move back to UK. Used to live in Liverpool about 8 years back.

yeah i was considering moving to the UK, but unsure what the job market looks like around there..

btw qads, you say that now :) wait til you move here... there is so much "that's racist" or "i'm suing you" crap , that it really isn't that great of place to be, even if some jobs are available... with the market being like it is and probably gonna stay that way for another year or so, i'd rather move somewhere else that i knew i could get a job and move back when the economy settles down...

Whats wrong with Asia?

Funny, how places like India and Thailand are sold on Linux and OSS.

Come to Canada.

I believe 100% of my clients so far have been American, and converting my USD fees into CAD is always a good thing. ;)

Plus it's only a drive accross the border if you ever feel like visiting back home.

I guess the same could be said for Mexico then right?

if you can just go and drive across the american/canidian border to get home, i dont think your gonna be home if you just hop across the mexican border, and germany by the way!

Well I think quality of living comes to be a deciding factor in this case then. ;)

That all depends. Isn't price of living Mexico a helluva lot cheaper?

mMm, nice question though I really don't have a clue . Well, maybe the cost of building one. I'd have to build it by myself since I'd wonder what kind of a contracter would build be a hut :(.
