Interesting stuff, especially the costs to Brazilian government and general maintenance costs. No agendas, no biases, no jealousies, just doing what works best for them.

I think German local government have decided to standardise on open source. Either that or they were considering it.

Microsoft must be getting quite worried. I hope.

I doubt Microsoft is worried. As long as they control the ignorant-average computer user market in the USA they will keep the billions rolling in. =P

I'm from Brasil and we have lotz of sites running php / open source stuff but unfortnantly IIS and ASP have a good slice of the marketing..

The Gov. is studing in use more open source stuff in orther to keep the cost low !
Micro$oft Licence$ and mantinance are too expensive .
And Windows do not serve for nothig :)
