Ye' old general discussion board. Basically, for everything that isn't covered elsewhere. Come here to shoot the breeze, shoot your mouth off, or whatever suits your fancy. This forum is not for asking programming related questions.
For others who may come to read this post because they would also like to know how to disable this feature (which is called autocomplete) you can tell IE 6 to stop using it by going to
Tools->Internet Options->Content->AutoComplete and you can then configure autocomplete (or disable it).
It's not autocomplete because this is an IE extension, and the toolbar manages the drop down instead of the browser.
I have the Google Toolbar v2.0 running and if I would remove all my IE history, clear the address bar, turn autocomplete off it will be still there. To remove it, simply click the Google logo and scroll down to "Clear Search History."
Thanks for the correction sami, I obviously didn't read into it enough to know that he was running the google toolbar, in which case I would not have been able to help because I didn't know that google toolbar managed that. My apologies.
