Programming PHP | Core PHP

Post by nigma »

Hey, I recently visited Barnes and Noble to look at two books:
Programming PHP (by O'Reilly) and Core PHP (by Prentice Hall).

Both books looked quite informative. Core PHP seemed to be at least 500 pages longer than Programming PHP though, yet there pricetags differed by only a few dollars.

I was hoping someone here who has read both or even one of the two books listed above could help clue me into some of the downsides & advantages of buying each book.

Thanks a bunch for any help provided.

after having thumbed through most of my amazon purchase I have to say my favorites are MySQL and PHP Bibles and the PHP Developers Cookbook. All 3 are written very clearly and are easy to understand.
