Hi, I'm making a site for my good friend Jack, it's about the concert he does for charity, because of his dad who died, hence the name inmc (Ian Nicholson Memorial Concert).
At inmc|03 we recorded a CD and DVD, but are wanting to make an online shop to sell these items, and possibly a couple more items like badges and posters etc.
I've tried looking for php scripts on the web, but all the shops available for free are huge, as in, you sell things in categories, which I don't need, due to lack of items.
Does anybody have a script, which allows for a small catalogue, which for each item has;
Title
Description
Picture (thumbnail)
the shop should preferably have secure credit card transactions aswell, I've seen plenty of shops which would fit the bill, but they all use paypal. I'd want this shop to allow straight forward credit detail input, which automatically verifies the card and transfers the money to the inmc bank account.
Cheers, Ryan.

Hi undershot,
Nice to see some local to me posting, i am from York, was at uni in Huddersfield 3 years ago.
Anyway, you may want to do a search on http://www.hotscripts.com
You will find a simple one to fit your needs. As for credit card processing, you will need to have a merchant account to do this, or do it through a third party like http://www.worldpay.co.uk/

I did BA(hons) Multimedia and Virtual Reality Design.
The course was really good, but i got offered a job as a web developer just as i started my second year, so i quit uni.
The facilities are pretty good, but i never liked Huddersfield itself (no offence).
If you are gonna go to uni, you wanna go somewhere away from where you live to for the experience i would say. Huddersfield wasn't far enough away from York for my liking. Wish i had taken the chance to go to Ravensbourne in London now.
It all worked out good in the end though

Yeh, I wanna move some where else really, but I'm just very confused at the mo. I'm wanting to be a graphics designer of some sort, preferably a web designer. I'm studying ICT, Physics, Art and Technology at ma 6th form, but I'm not sure that's what I should be doing.
I'd want to be one of them scamming bastard web designers though, you know the sort that make <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> sites for extortionate prices, lol.
I've done a few sites in my time, mostly <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> ones though, take a look:
http:
http://www.serotoninweb.com
http://www.inmc.co.uk
http://www.itwasgreg.net
http://www.smithbrothersltd.co.uk
I used to run fixby.com aswell, but that changed into itwasgreg.net, which I've just launched, although there's very little content on it at the moment.[/url]

i did Biology, Business Studies and Graphic Design at A-Level but non of them were neccessary for the course i did.
All i needed was a portfolio of work and a certain number of points at A-Level (10 i think).
I didn't go to uni straight from A-Level though, i did a year BTEC Nat Dip in Art and Design Foundation Studies. This was really good becuase i got a chance to try out a lot of things, then decided it was the web side that i really wanted to go into.
Having said that, even though i am good at the design aspect (IMHO
) i really do not like doing it anymore, and prefer to concentrate on web development.
If you want any advice on all this, don't hesitate to ask cos i have been there and done that
