Ideas..

Post by hob_goblin »

I got bored with having a "personal" site, or what not.. it really didn't have a purpose, and i didnt like getting 200+ unique visits a day, and people not seeing anything special.

So i cleaned it all out, im starting over.

What would you guys like to see for a new site?

Here are some ideas i came up with:

1) A designated person would come up with a task, then users would go and try to write a script accomplishing it. Scripts would be then archived and you could download them.

2) Another bland support site, you ask questions, we answer.

3) I loved the idea of PHPTennis, but it seemed to narrow on PHP, and im not sure about the "tennis" thing.

4) A site where a user would submit a URL, and a "team" would go out and write a review for it. There would be "top websites" and things like that..

any ideas?

The top sites idea is pretty cool...focus on sites coded in PHP and the usage of PHP on the site.

Incorporating PHP with javascript, flash, ect. would give you more points, and the speed, functionality and error proofing also would give you more points :)

just ideas

How about a site focusing on PHP-GTK (GTK-PHP as I don't know what is supposed to come first). I've recently began banging my head against the wall with this one and there is very little in the way of tutorials out there beyond the most basic things.

Just an idea. Later on,
