Anyone use this service? I was hoping someone could throw a couple reivews on how well or not well it works...

for those that don't know, its basically like having your own online library of IT books. Seems pretty cool $20 a month for access to thousands of books.

nigma had a topic a while ago. I've not used it but I'd like to hear from people who have done though.

I actually signed up last night.
Man, I love this thing. Instead of having to carry these big ass IT books back and fourth to work I have them all on my laptop.

The only thing I dont like is you only can download 5 pdf chapters a month, but you can read the entire books online. So I guess thats not too terrible.

They have a free 14 day trial you can use, check it out.

How are you finding reading exclusively on-screen, JPlush? I would imagine that somewhat difficult - I always notice that my attention span is much shorter when I read online.
In fact, people seem to read differently online than they do "off-line", i.e. the classic way - they scan for keywords rather than read coherent senteces.

Do you actually read the books or do you browse the index and home in on the answer to your question? Can you read entire chapters?

Hmm...I might just sign up for those two weeks to see how much it screws with my head... :)

actually I'm digging it alot, I think I'm gonna stick with it after my free trial is up ($20 a month).

I actually like reading online so its cool to be able to read whole books on my laptop.

You basically get 10 books a month... you can keep them for however long but you have to keep them on your bookshelf for at least 30 days... after 30 days you can trade books you dont want anymore for new books. 10 books a month is a LOT of reading though, so that should be fine.

They've got tons of books on there about some cool subjects. Its nice to be able to read a chapter on something you really wouldn't wanna buy, but just wanna check it out nonetheless.
