Wrong topics

Here is a general guide I have wrote for you to determine what section to post under.

1. Databases

If you are having trouble with SQL syntax, SQL connections or anything SQL, post under Databases. Only ask how to set something up AFTER you read the documentation (often at www.MySQL.comp or www.PHP.net ).

2. PHP-Code

If you have written a PHP script, but you get error messages concerning the code of the script, but does NOT involve database connectivity, then post under the PHP-Code. Please note : A question like "How do I make a button close the window?" is for the Client Side section.

3. Client-Side

Almost anything doing with the user being able to click something, or move something, or giving the user different options are client side. Ask yourself this, is the server doing the thinking, or is the Javascript (CSS)? If the server is not doing the thinking, post under Client Side.

3. Theory and Design

If you need help on thinking out your script, or on how one might go about doing something, post it under Theory and Design.

4. Tutorials

If you are new, or are looking for someone to give you code, take a look at the Tutorials sections.

5. Code Snippets

Also, if you are looking for a small script to incorporate into your preexisting script, check out the Code Snippets section. Please note, only post SMALL ammounts of code. Huge ammounts should be posted unter Tutorials.

6. Linux

If you are trying to use *nix and need help, or receive a *nix specific PHP error, post in Linux. Remember, it is always good to look at the ducumentation for your flavor of *nix BEFORE you post.

7. Job Hunt

If you are looking to be hired (or hire) , then go to the Job Hunt section. Note : Do NOT pay in "future help" or anything bogus like that..we want cold, hard cash!!

8. Suggestions

If you need some critiquing on your website, or perhaps your designing skills, post in Suggestions. Do not get mad if someone tells you that your design is terrible or the like.

9. Web Hosting

If you are in dire need for a host, or would like to recommend a host, then post in Web Hosting. Please note, that if you wish to suggest a web host, post it under the sticky.

10. Project Help Wanted / Volunteer Work

If you would like someone to code an entire library for you, then check out the Project Help Wanted / Volunteer Work section.

11. General Discussion

Anything else goes under General Discussion.

Look people, this is a very simple thing. I am ashamed that someone has to post this! But, I for one, am tired of numerous posts by people with 2 post count in the wrong section!! P.S....PLEASE check out Google and the General Posting Guidelines

Heheh, perhaps you and I should declare ourselves the "moron ass-kicking team" of PHPDN.

Somebody takes their idiocy too far, BAM! You stone 'em, I'll point out all the reasons they're a dumbass while you do it.

One question though? Shouldn't this be in the General Discussion forum?

The reason I put it here, is because most of the people who post in the wrong place post here..So, I figures it would be more seen by them here.

If you reformat the original post, I would be more than happy to make it a sticky. But as it stands right now, it's a huge block of text no one is going to read. I would rather it be a huge list that no one is going to read.

That guy's not so bad. We might think he's a wee bit simps, but he makes a good point - you have to spell everything out for everybody or they get mad.
