apache 2 or 1.3?

Post by Howard547 »

I have apache 1.3, and have been using it for about 2 years. I havnt heard much about 2.0, and I was wondering if I should upgrade to 2? or if 1.3 is more stable and secure?

I still use 1.3.

I remember hearing that since Apache 2.0 is a complete rewrite of Apache, that there are some real issues with how it deals with components like PHP. Like, I remember that PHP + caching + Apache 2.0 was a real big problem.

... But I haven't heard much lately, so maybe some things have been resolved?

I've been using Apache 2.0 for HTML and PHP development with no problems. I can't speak for it in a full-fledged server environment, though.
