<lol>

Actually, I user a combination of MSPaint and Abode Photoshop. I find that I can get some very simple things done in MSPaint where as I have to go through a learning curve in Photoshop to do the exact same thing.

Yep...I do the same.Its just a bit easier when all you need to do is put text on a screenshot or somthing like that. It gets annoying having to wait for photoshop to load up and then deal with layers and vectors etc when all u wanna do is somthing simple.....mind you, i usually end up putting the image into ps so i can compress it. lol

I'm a Photoshop whore... If I were going to do something simple enough that Paint could handle it, I'd probably use it, I just don't often find myself needing something like that for any purpose.

but in response to the actual topic :lol: i actualy use paint alot when im taking screenshots and just paste them into paint, much much easier, especially when PS takes like 90 secs to load up such is the mass of plugins i have

<span style='color:blue' title='I&#39;m naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> !!!
MSPAINT is one of the few programs that has the same layout from windows 95 to windows XP.

No upgrade at all.

<span style='color:blue' title='I&#39;m naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> NOOOOOOOOOOOO

I use to think the same way until I sat down for 15 mins and learned every one of those 'simple' things Paint does so well, in Photoshop.

Trust me, it will be worth the time spent.

photoshop all the way, with Jasc rite behind it. They are really coming along nicely and I do think if they just get a couple more 'adobe' like functions on that thing, I could be convinced enough to switch. Jasc is a fast loader with a very nice layout, as well as detailed and comprehensive user guides in case a person gets a little lost along the way with a really cool animator side program. HTML image mapping and rollovers, as well as some really cool compression tools make it a heavy contender.

MS paint is a nice little utility for quick and very easy editing. That is all that I can say about it without sounding like a arogant ass.

Fireworks and flash...well, I had those two and I no longer deal with either of them. Nothing but a major pain in the ass with the propriatary attributes that exceed Microsoft. On top of that, a very shady and one sided coding engine that rivals GoLive! in the "What the hell is this crap code?" category.

Gimp. Nice chrome module and flames module, but frankly its more to me a program that is nothing more than MS paint on steroids. I used it for many side projects, but found it to be to much work to get it to do what Adobe could with half the problems. Its all about user preferences and what you are used to, so dont take this as a negative comment towards Gimp. They are only second to Jasc when it comes to quality chrome and flame graphics.

In the end, its adobe hands down.

My interst for graphics design started with MSPaint lol. Then in months I jumped into Photoshop and now, as a Linux user, I am very happy with GIMP, although I have yet lot things to learn. I don't boot Windows for a long long time...
