Our first computer was a 386 IBM compatible with stunning VGA graphics. It had a 5 1/4 floppy drive and a 3 1/2 one. It initially ran DOS but we had it upgraded a bit later to a 386DX running Windows 3.1.

Nothing dramatic here, my first was a Pentium 150 - Acer (bluk bluk), I'm a transformed work horse - into computer geek. I didn't even know how to load a program, just went to best buy and bought the thing.

Before the P 150, I only saw a few MACs and that was just looking at them. I had no interest in computers at all whatsoever back then. I was more of an outdoors person, dirt bikes, swimming across lakes (very dumb of me back then, no life jackets or support in case I got tired), etc. Anyway, you get the drift.

Sorry, no pictures. I threw that Acer out awhile back. In the trash where it belongs!! 8)

Commodore 64 - the beauty. Learnt BASIC - and the running gag was: "God save the Queen, 8,1" :)

64KB Ram, tape for data-storage, the dream was to have two 5.1" floppy discs... You could slot it into any TV...

My first was a spectrum. It was a pain in the ass when it loaded as it made this irratating sound. The #1 classical game i say has to be Paperboy.

Amiga was such an upgrade. I had to get Defender of the Crown for that - the graphics were fantastic!

You can get emulators these days which allow you to play all these games. Most of you will know about them but for those who don't, Give it a try...

There is one C64 emulator for Windows PCs - if you go on their website, the voice from "Mission: Impossible" greets you: "Another visitor! .... Stay a while... Staaaayyyyyy forevvvveerrrrrr!!!". And if you click on something it says: "Destroy him, my robots!"

Oh, now my heart is putty (sans SSH) ;).
