Shareware archive management script?

Post by Nightjar »

Hello,
I'm looking for a ready-made PHP script that could help me build a website presenting a listing of selected shareware programs, with info, downloads count and visitors' comments. My aim is to build an extra-reduced version of websites such as Version Tracker or Mac Update - mine would be devoted just to a specific kind of software (mainly free and shareware).
I know I could build my website from scratch using PHP, but as I'm a newbie, I really hope there could be a script somewhere, ready to use (please don't suggest to have a look at the usual resource websites like PHP Resource Index... I already spent many hours looking for an appropriate script)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you mean an entire-website built ready to install and use? Content management systems would be the way to go.

Well, basically I would just need the software-archive management script. Something like SoftSite 1.0 - but possibly PHP-based and free. I'd prefer to avoid using pre-made solutions like PHPNuke, because they tend to look all the same.
And I know those examples I gave you before should use some sort of pre-made solution...

Thank you anyway!
