Death of a great...

Post by BDKR »

After spending time as of late fighting with shared memory and semaphores, I found that the creator of semaphores Edsger Wybe Dijkstra has died. This is a bummer.

Now guys like this deserve our appreciation as they are the ones that create the foundations we work from. Everystep someone before us took is the place were we left from. And those that are great among us now will take steps that will jserver as umping off points for our offspring and ancestors. Those who are willing to do the work and take the steps deserver our respect.

You can read the announcement at http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/UTCS/not ... dobit.html.

Later on,
BDKR
