Rant: Since when does webhosting replace money?

Post by phice »

I've noticed within the past few months people that are looking for a programming or design job completed they can't pay, but are willing to give you webhosting.

First off, since when does webhosting = money? Most likely, the programmer would have somewhere online to atleast test their programs on before distribution.

Second, how long would this webhosting last? A month, maybe? I certainly wouldn't want to put any of my current projects on a webhost that I'm getting for free that could 1) close at any moment, and 2) be rummedged through without my authority.

I say to the webmasters out there, please offer something more useful then webhosting to programmers. Most of us, more than likely, have webhosting here or there.

As for testing, i think 95% of people here got their own testing webserver, those who dont, either are not ready to offer php services in the first place, or just doing this for the fun of it.
