Learn the simple things first like how to read from a database and how to add something to a database then work off that... thats how i did mine.

how to learn creating graphics?
if you know some CSS, you could always make a text-only forum (with CSS styling) and then add the images afterwards

I dont think you can teach someone how to make awesome, creative graphics..

they must have the 'knack' for it, so to say.

as for me, I dont have the 'knack'

i'll just stick with code, leave graphics up to others lol

All hail tim's great words.
*watches as all the graphic design schools in the country go away*

lol
you don't have to be an artist, you just have to know how to put a few ideas together to make an image.
If you don't know many techniques, it'll look like poo. :P

I can tell your only 16

what I was trying to say was that if your no good with coming up with creative ideas and drawing them up in like photoshop or paint shop pro or even on paper, why bother? It'll look like
poo
if your no good with art and creativitiy as such art requires, i doubt you'll go to a school. If you dont like art (like me) you wont go to a art school. For alot of people and teachers I talked to when I visited different colleges they said the same thing. A successful art student must have the skills and motivation to learn more.

notice the skills part? and if your saying that is wrong, then perhaps all the art schools should fade away cause the professors have that attitude too

why do you always have to be so argumentive over what I say?

All hail tims great ass kicking for 16 year olds that have nothing better to do then talk smack over a computer

Most definately.

Theres always that effect in paint shop pro I wish I could have mocked with graphics (the nice chrome effect, not a eye candy filter that does chrome cause thats ugly)
