PHP

Post by Takuma »

Hi,
Anybody know a good PHP editor?
I use to use Notepad then I changed to AceHTML 5 Pro then to PHPEd.
I'm happy with PHPEd but I'm just wondering what other people are using...

glimmer

Well I use glimmer - for just about everything, unless I'm in a shell then I'll use vi. PHPcoder is pretty good - if you're on Windows.

So how do you get it? There is no pricing discussed, and the download link generates a "access forbidden" error message.

I like Editplus as I've said a few times now because this topic has been discussed before:

http://www.devnetwork.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=454
http://www.devnetwork.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1747
http://www.devnetwork.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1917

It's definitely worth searching the forum before you post guys, and also posting discussion topics in the discussion forum as they won't get lost so quickly there.

I can send it to you. I noticed that the link didn't work. Strange, since it worked the day before. But, send me an PM if you want it :-)

UltraEdit: a pretty nice, small editor similar to ConTeXt. Uses about 1Mb on hard disk, supports a whole bunch of languages (C++, Java, HTML etc.), has a lot of cool functions. Available in English, German, French and Spanish.

Hey w3cynic,

I have glimmer on my system and it's slow as molasses. However, being able to set a background image is a cool option. Another one that has exteme potential is phpmole. I've checked it out, but mostly use Cooledit. After that, it's nano and vi.

Later on,

Thanks for your tips!
I will try all of them (except the Linux ones since I've got WinME)

P.S Sorry that I posted this in the wrong forum....
