Ah Cocteau Twins! Saw them once in Glasgow when I when I was a lad and you could still get into a gig with a couple of jam jars etc etc. Liz Fraser (?) sounded even better live.

Good point! I'm suprised nobody mentioned them. I'm suprised I didn't mention them.

Anyway, at the moment I am coding to Cocteau Twins.

AW Yes, good-ol PJ. Unless you're a PJ fan you probably don't know that the stick figure on my graphic to the right is the stick figure from their Alive album. I'm a huge fan.

Where in FL are you from BDKR? Jax here...

I usually have something like Live, Evanescence or Krezip on... sometimes something older like Queen... just some nice relaxing stuff so I can still think straight (coding with heavy metal != working ;))

Since I've been back in the country (nevermind the two months in New Jersey while I found a job), it's been Ft Myers. Before I went to Venezuela in '99, I lived in Daytona Beach and Bradenton. However, I'm hardly a native to Florida. I grew up in California but left there to escape the extreme cost of living. I also wanted to leave before the prison system put a fence around the state.

Anyways, I am moving to Tampa in the next week. New job.

Cheers,
BDKR

Right now, I am jamming to some of the best music...ever.
  • Bob Dylan (Every Must Get Stoned..."But I would not feel so all alone, Everybody must get stoned!")
  • Led Zepplin (Ramble On...you do know about the Gollum and Mordor references, right?)
  • Billy Joel (Scenes from an Italian Restaurant)
  • Bruce Springstein (My Hometown)
  • The Eagles (Life in the Fast Lane)
  • Queen (Fat Bottomed Girls)
You know, they don't make music like this any more. It's a shame...or maybe not. Maybe it's knowing music like this, and appreciating it, that makes it that much more special. I mean, damn, this is the stuff I grew up on (Thanks to my Mother and Father).

Almost always Classical and Orchestral Movie Soundtracks. I find it easier to focus while listening to such music, and I greatly enjoy it anyway.

I like them too. What about the John Barry's "Dances With Wolves" Movie Soundtrack? Also "Somewhere in Time", from same artist, is very good.

Lately it's been The Black Dahlia Murder, The Decemberists, Blonde Redhead, Death Cab for Cutie, Sun Kil Moon, Dillinger Escape Plan, Daughters, Cursive, Sigur Ros .... stuff like that.

Anyone use this theard to find new music? or do people just stick to what they know?
