My, my... I didn't expect to hear some of those names. Being an old tosser myself and having gotten into the whole punk scene thing back in 1979 (Yes, I know. That was before some of you were old enough to talk), many of the above mentioned bands were the thing of the day.Crashin wrote: Oh, yeah! The Violent Femmes...I love that old school stuff. I also like:
The Smiths, esp. Louder Than Bombs
Echo and the Bunnymen
The Cure (older stuff, like Staring at the Sea)
Elvis Costello
Talking Heads
Descendants
Front 242
Jesus and Mary Chain
I could go on and on...![]()
depends on when I write down my list. At other times it might have been filled with Prince Buster, Lee Scratch Perry and Dr.Ringding as wellNow it's funny to me that nobody has mentioned much Ska or dance hall. How about The Selector or Desmond Decker?

I have a Ministry video..."Live: In case you didn't feel like showing up.", where Jello gets on stage right before their last song of the set, "The Land of Rape and Honey," and does his infamous pledge of allegiance to the united snakes of captivity. Then, he struts around on stage during the song waving an upside-down flag and alternating between sucking his thumb and giving the nazi heil salute. It's hilarious...you can see all of the skins in the crowd just getting <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span>, but there's a big chain-link fence between the crowd and the band so they can't get to him.Dead Kennedys (Jello was another man with a lot to say)
