Dreamweaver MX: PHP Web Development Book

Post by jason »

Just wanted to let everyone know about this book:

Dreamweaver MX: PHP Web Development

The reason I mention it is because I was a technical reviewer on parts of this book, and is a good book if you are interested in using Dreamweaver MX and PHP together.

I tried to like MX, I really did, but it was just too slow on my computer. Def has some nice features if you can take the bloat, though.

Yeah, I will admit that I have stuck with HomeSite 5. But another developer here loves the new MX, so to each his own. Of course, I have a tendancy to have upwards of 30 to 40 windows open at the same time. :D

bloat bloat bloat and more bloat. Both in the program, and some of the code it creates.

phooey MX. Still using Homesite 5, and will continue to do so until it becomes impossible/unfeesible

Coding with notepad is like crossing the atlantic in a paper airplane.
And if this was done...it would be ALL over the news as an outstanding achivement...ur taking a cliche jet....

Ever notice how no icons ever show pride by saying: "This site created with HomeSite5"..or "This site NOT created in notepad."?

who really cares what a site is made with? really... i mean, c'mon, it's gotta get done somehow, so why bash people for creating their site with editors that everyone loves/hates?

I personally use notepad (for quickediting), editpad (for nearly everything), and on the server side of things, I use Nano (pico clone)... there, bash that.

I used Notepad when I started with HTML, now I think that was a great idea cos I can create websites anywhere. Dreamweaver MX is good idea if you don't know HTML I don't think it's a good idea for people who hand codes the page. I don't like Dreamweaver MX's PHP things, they're horrible... 8O

reply 1). *reads all arguements*...yes yes, I understand that it's a good idea for people that don't know HTML.....but I think Jason does....ya know? It just gets to me when you have some web developer that acts all big about creating websites but they don't even do most of the work.

reply 2). enygma, i was just using the image to express my feelings and catch an eye, I would never put it on my site.

reply 3). EvilWalrus, I wont bash the fact that you use all text editors (Notepad is just a well known one, so I demonstrated with it.) When I'm in Linux, I use Nano, as well.

reply 4). Hob and Takuma, I agree with you two.

PROPS TO MY FELLOW NOTEPADERS OUT THERE! *props*
