a car tuned for the track, generally, isn't a nice car to drive on the road. The suspension is far stiffer, the rear differential may be locked, the gear timings are probably very short on the low end. The amount of turn the wheels can do may be significantly less than a "normal" car.
I'm not saying it can't be done. It depends on how far you go into the mix of a track car and a street car. And how far you are willing to retune it when leaving/entering the track environment. (or if you have the skills to drive such a car on the street.)

as feyd said, my camaro is somehting I wish to drive in town.
to get to town is a lil highway driving, so high gears ratios and a big stall converter is out of the question, unless u want tickets and a huge bill for gas. You can find a balance for the two, a decent street car and a decent track car, but to get the best for one or the other, you can only focus on one. and i want people to see my car in the town, i want to pick my friends up n cruise, etc.
my .02.
and when my brother had it, not built it ran low 15's. Stock, so i'm not one for that, rather hve the looks and the power is for sure there. Been in alot of cars. My friend has a Ford supercoupe, supercharged. Extremely fast and i can go w/ him, beat him as well. So just knowing that alone makes me happy.

4wd. 4x4x4, actuallyfeyd wrote:3000GT's ... are rear drive (that I remember)
I agree that a pure street car could never be a track car, but I think it can work well the other way around (especially with 6 gears and adjustable suspension), as long as you're not running slicks, natch.
I got a Rover 827 in case I need to drive a long way / carry more than one passenger
a stall is for an automatic transmissions, it enables you to rev-up to a certain RPM (a higher stall would mean a higher rpm) before the car engages n moves.
Bad for a town with alot of stop lights, excellent for the track when u want to keep the rpms high at launch.
A trans-break would be better, but not everyone can afford such.

not really
Our local machine shop has a race car, he would never want a manual in that.
autos can be programmed to shift at certains points (ON ITS OWN) that would reduce driver flaws, autos can be built to hold any amount of power
look at the raptor 700r-4. they even have OD
A bigger servo alone would make a auto come to life. a few easy installs u can do w/o breaking open the shell can make them come to life n smoke anything with a manual with equal engine performance.
So i disagree.
