Find project help website

I won recently a domain name and webhosting and I'm now thinking what to put there. I thought of a website which would be basicly something like "find project help" website. Programmers, designers etc can register there and find help for future projects. So if you are thinking to start working with a program or a large website but you are afraid to start it alone then this place would be for you. It would offer help for you for the project. Forums would be the place to get help in any matter and to tell about current projects etc.. The site would offer basic parts of programs: classes, cores etc to help the development process. The site would offer you a groupware software and a project website. All projects must be open source and released under GNU general public license. What do you think? would this kind of place be good and is it needed? at least I would need a place like this.

I think you might be buried by the mighty Source Forge.

yes I know but does sourceforge really help people to find help for their projects? I think it just offers the CVS and project page and stuff for the project but you gotta find the people by yourself from somewhere.

In that case this kind of website could be usefull to people because the main issue is to find partners for projects and the other stuff is just a pluss. And since it will be small it has more intimate touch to projects and the people working with them. The help is more easier to acquire and so on. Maybe if I just develop the idea more and it will become good.

can't find the delete button anywhere :)
Ok, another question is this: I think we will use a ready groupware for projects there at least until our own is ready (if we make one) so which groupware you suggest? the features it should have at least are: calendar, project management, file management, messaging, to-do lists and it should run on fairly basic PHP&MySQL setup so no extra libraries and so on please.

effete.org is now online! website is coming and the layout is completely done already. I've set up couple of IRC channels for everyone who is interested and they are:

#effete @ irc.quakenet.org
#effete @ irc.afternet.org

Since this is totally new thing nothing much happens but I'm looking for programmers, designers, artists etc... You don't have to do anything if you "join". It's enough if you are even interested. Maybe get some help from there or start a project with fellow developers. If you are interested enough you can join me as a staff member. I don't reach for the impossible. I know it's going to be a slow start but I want to try and give it some time. Maybe slowly people will realize how nice thing this is.

If you don't use IRC you can e-mail me at telos[at]effete.org and please visit http://www.effete.org regularly to see when the actual website is going to open. I welcome you all.

The forums are up too and you can join at http://www.effete.org/forums/
