Looks like Charley made a hard right and is going to nail Ft. Myers and maybe some of those who evacuated inland too.

Yeah I saw that. Our probability of the eye coming within 68 nautical miles went from 59% to 48%. See ya' Orlando and Daytona Beach!

altho i'm not one to turn down beer, but I think being in a nasty hurricane sober let alone drunk is bad enough

Yeah, I'm still here. The hurricane hit south of here right over Daytona Beach FL. For those of you who haven't heard of Daytona, Google "Girls Gone Wild.”
We had a little wind but nothing too bad. It was a pretty bad storm. Last time I checked they are still trying to get an official fatality count.
Thanks for the concern.

Phenom you are correct, I grew up about 2 hours from BC Canada and trust me there is some serious drinking going on.

After three days of warnings that life as I know it was about to change I'm a little stunned. Not even a drop of rain from Charley here. Catagory 3 would've wiped out Gulfport...a catatogy 4!? Have I mentioned how glad I am to just be alive!

my bosses daughter lives there and bought a new house.
Is forced to board up the windows due to the hurricane.
Hows that for a new-house gift?

I feel for you hawleyjr being in the crosshairs sucks. If it makes you feel any better I'll be waiting with you and probably packing up the yard stuff just in case. It's too far out to say where it's going to hit. I hope it doesn't hit Florida at all... damn homeowners insurance has already doubled as it is this year!

Yeah it’s ridiculous, at this point there is no telling where it is going to hit but if it does it will be BAD. A CAT 4 that is still over warm water far from land. Simply said, that is scary. It will easily become a CAT 5 by the time it reaches land. Now mind you, Andrew was only a CAT 4. They did an estimate here and said if a CAT 4 hits Jax it would pretty much flatten the city. It just sucks. I’m part of a team of people who my work sends to North Carolina in the event of a hurricane to keep the business running so I’ll be fine; my house another story…
