Windows update only works with ie

Windows update only works with ie

Well, at work we use windows and I have firefox installed. I went to try and install the new windows sp2 and who would have thought Microsoft requires me to use IE 5 or higher. HMMMMMMMMMMM

You can always manually download the updates from their updates page..

They aren't forcing anyone, just nicely suggesting. :)

Anyways, the reason is they use activex to check your system for what updates you have installed, which I have no problem with. (I do however have a problem when a pop up comes out of nowhere requesting activex permission, which is why I use firefox and only use IE for windows updates).
