I don't think the problem is people are too lazy to download Firefox. That would imply that they know about it, and they know where to go, yet they don't.

It's a matter of ignorance really.

I was telling a friend about my IE crashing, and I said "that goodness I have Firefox." And she honestly thought I was talking about Pokémon for a second.

The word needs to get out, or Microshloft needs to bundle Mozilla into Windows so people aren't force fed an inferior product.

Not the form autocomplete, the URL autocomplete.

When you type a URL in, it completes it for you, so you twat the enter key, and it just tries to find what you've typed so far.
You need to press the down arrow, then enter.

Like I said, I'll get used to it.

As for IE being inferior to FireFox, I'm not convinced that it can add that much to the experience of a novice user.

bah, i hate that kind of autocomplete.
when you want to type devnetwork.net, it keeps completing it with /viewtopic.php?t=489 or whatever, then you delete that, sometimes deleting too much, add the rest of it, and just end up nuking the whole world because it got too frusterating.

If I want the browser to autocomplete things for me, I'll tell it (by pressing down).
Same reason I stopped using dreamweaver, stupid completing closing tags for you.. :P
