Any ISP or email host could have this "problem." If you want secure communication, use encryption. Even better, run your own email server. You still have to go through other smtp servers though.. each one of those could store off and read all your communications. If you want large levels of security, go ultra-low-tech.

Until we have quantum communication the potential is there for any systems to be used for this. Gmail is just a nice big target for it right now.

I can't wait until TB is the space du jour. :roll:

You know your last two replies have given me a great new idea for a piece of software that would solve the privacy problem and still make good of Gmail's purpose.

Too bad it requires more than simply PHP, and my VB and C++ programming skills are rather inferior at the momment. ;)
