Nothing comes even close to the power of Dreamweaver. I have been using it for years. The new MX is similar to UltraDev 4, but has dome new features and a better layout. It is simply the fastest way to get a great looking page together. I have tried just about every plain text editor (PHPEdit was my favorite), but none of them make it so easy to create complex tables with loops and at the same time make use of stylesheets an such. Plain text editors are great when used in moderation :) , but being able to have dreamweaver do the grunt work and the built in text editor to tweak and put in the php code, makes your life easier.

I bet i could do the grunt work in notepad just as fast as you could do it in dreamweaver, plus my code would be more valid...

I happily second that.

Except for an experienced hand-coding web developer...

I'm glad someone agrees :)

Hand coding just has so many more advantages if you can do it
