Absolutely. I know Valve wouldn't have a webcam of their office with a guy holding a copy of the finished game (like someone else ;)). :P

wtf! how is halo 2 better than hl2? there is NOTHING about halo 2 that is better

1) HL2 has the most advanced physics engine ever created
2) HL2 has MUCH better graphics than halo 2
3) HL2 storyline is much more interesting and doesnt get boring after killing the 100th head crab. unlike halo (and most likely halo2) that gets boring after killing x amounts of grunts
4) HL2 is fully modable, making games like CS:Source and DoD:Source so easy to make.

The only thing Halo 2 has going for it is that it has system link, making lan parties easier. other than that, its not that good

Great, you're naming things that can only be possible on the PC.

"HL2 storyline is much more interesting and doesnt get boring after killing the 100th head crab. unlike halo (and most likely halo2) that gets boring after killing x amounts of grunts"

Please do not state things you have no information about. You cannot compare Half Life 2 to a game that you have no idea on what the story is about.

Thanks. :)

Bored of killing random grunts? Nah. You always find new and exciting ways to mutalate them (adding unlimited replay value)! :P

lol

No seriously, the story is a very cool sci-fi one that happens to be one of the best ones I've been able to experience (and fully experience BTW...rapped the game on 2 difficulties).

One of the best parts about the game is that you can complete the levels a thousand different ways each. And that is a thousand different ways on each different game mode (Normal, Legendary, etc.) since the story line for the game, and the cut scenes change with each advancing difficulty, thus adding more replay value.

I think the games are too different to compare (HL vs. SOCOM vs. Rainbowsix would be a better debate). They are designed for different platforms. One is realistic, one is fantasy/sci-fi. One has the ability to spawn off modifications, the other doesn't due to it being on a console. And one is limited to the graphic capabilities of the Xbox, while the other can recommend 3GHz processors due to it being designed for PCs. So a feature vs. feature comparison is rather moot.

For the overall game experience, I'd say Halo beats out any realistic games such as HL. Halo is one of a kind, and has so much replay valule because of the SP, Xbox Live, and XBC. Realistic games are a dime a dozen so, just like driving games, once you've played one, you've pretty much played them all.

Halo 2 and Forza will kill any competition in the FPS and Racing genres.

I can't wait for Nov 9th, ahhhh!

how is advanced physics not possible on xbox?
how is advanced graphics not possible on xbox?
i agree, console games cant be modded so that was a bad example

as for not knowing about the game, your right, but i basicly compared the story lines of HL1 and Halo 1. in that case, i find HL1 much mroe interesting and doesnt get boring. now dont get me wrong, i love halo, ive even gone out and read all three halo books, but when it comes to halo vs hl, hl wins

The main advantage of Halo is that 1) system link, 2) all xboxs are the same and you dont need to upgrade it in order to play.

About halo replay value: ive played HL over 20 times, and i will continue to play it, i find it is one of the most fun games to replay. Halo is fun also, as long as its legendary

HL1 and Halo 1
HL2 and Halo are both completely re-done games.... and are 498503429850293849032840923849980x better, so dont compare them.

i agree, but as for story line purposes, since noone knows the HL2 and Halo 2 story lines exactly, so i compared the first ones :P

Well I know a Microsoft employee who got to play a bit of Halo 2, and he knows someone who snuck a copy home with him and played the full SP and knows the story.

So it's not entirely secret anymore.

Oh BTW, I didn't want to hear the story so I didn't bother reading what he told me, but trust me, it's not a secret anymore.

It's not that it can't handle advanced physics and graphics. Doom 3 and HL 2 has/will have Xbox support, so that proves it can handle one of the best graphics/physics engine out there. It's just that it is very limited to it's processing power so if you want to look at the game with all the bells and whistles, you'll need a 2 GHz Intel with a Geforce 4 (compared to Xbox and it's 733 Mhz processor and 64 MB vid card).

So we've come to the conclusion that both games will blow any other game out of the water. ;)
