open source PHP/Mysql FORUMS

hi guys,
im thinking of integrating a forum into my website but i know it will be too much work for me to ndertake rigt now so i was wondering if there were any open source PHP/MYSQL forums which were relaible.

the latest top of the range version is paid, but i think u can download the older versions for free....or is that phpnuke? Anyway i do know that you can get a free trial, which goes on for ever *-)

i ended up going for phpBB, it seems to be working quiet well, but i cant make out much of te code (im new to php) and i really need to edit it

Interesting forum system, mudkicker. Just what I was looking for actually.
I was thinking about making my own but now that I know about that, it'll save me loads of time.

Yeah their site doesn't anymore, didn't realize that when I posted that.
But you can still get the 1.3.1 final version, and 2.0 public development release here:

guys,
thanks for your help! anyone know how to edit phpBB2 to make it a bit more custom? im trying to find where the header is placed and then where the output begins but im having no luck at all
