Windows Explorer View

Hey guys.
This is a pretty stupid question, but the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Windows Explorer, at least for Windows XP, by default, has the view of everything as icons. How can you change it to be in the list for by default? Right now I am having to change every directory one by one, and they keep changing back if I ever move the directory or some such. I hear you have to change some variable in the system, but I'm not sure where to do this.
Thanks.

Dont use XP but im sure that you can just set up a window as you wish things to be showna nd then go to the folder options and then set it to use the current options as default.

right click inside the folder -> View -> List
Theres also a feature in the Folder Options (View on the top menu of an open window, folder options is in there)
you can check that to set all the folder as you have in the open window of an folder.

I disagree with that statement.
I've heard some pretty dumb ones in my time...

you first apply the view details (or whatever you want) then
you go in tools-->folder option-->view
and you choose apply to all
and it'll change everywhere

Thank you, Draco, that's what I was looking for. I guess I missed it the last time I checked there. And Sami, I have to admit, you're right about the stupid questions, heh.
