Human Nature

Post by Draco_03 »

Do you think that people with different religious beleifs could live together happily ?

I think so, that was the fact of my parents (dad being muslim and mom being a christian). But , neither were "fanatics". Wich that's why I always had the choice of religion. Neither of my parent ever pushed me in one, or the other direction. They always said (when I was younger) that I should make my own decision when I'll be of age.

I thank them for that.

I beleive in god (or something higher), but I do not beleive in a lot of thing about what's "written" in religious book (bible, coran).
for exemple, I do drink alchool, and I eat pork (wich is forbidden), because I think that the coran was a tool to control people ( in a good way) People start to drink too much all the toime and they needed guidance, so to stop that they said, no more alchool, and pork was dangerous for our health when not "cook" enough.
But these doesn't apply todays, we kno how to cook pork, and we know that moderation is better(hehe okay maybe not) anyways you got my point.
As for the bible, I do not think that god wanted the women to be "ruled over" by man because she ate the apple (genesis 3:16).

Lately I talked about religion with a good friend of mine, he's "very" religous man. He pray every time he can and he dedicate his life to jesus.
And while the discussion was really interesting, I knew that if he wasn't my friend, it could've been more "agressive".

I'm an open minded person, and when someone beleive really hard about something, usually it's good for him/her (specially religion, since it's the most bieutiful message of all, love one another etc etc). Until this person try to "impose" his though on you.
And I think that the human nature is to impose our though on everyone else. (even me but I do it on other things like-> "im telling you moores sucks! go buy your suit elsewhere!!")

The fact that religious discussion cannot ever end, it's because it's base on faith. Something that cannot be "measured". But everyone thinks his or her religion is the "right" one(most people that are really "into" it). But since they cannot "prove it" each one of them start arguing usually. Could be a good friendly discussion, or something ...unhealthy.

And I think it's human nature to impose our ideas. To think that over 90% of wars are direct result of religion.. It's sad.

I'll continue this post later, OI think it could be anice discussion about what you think, without disrespecting what other people think.

one last question for now is, do you think if you were born elsewhere, would you be of another rligion (i think so, since we usually take what our parent give us).

In general yes apart when fanaticism gets involved.

I would disagree with this one. Religion has been the EXCUSE for 90% of wars... There are normally a hidden agenda such as land etc.

In a free society you normally adopt your parents religion or rebel against it. As you are growing up you take on a lot of the morals and beliefs of those people you surround yourself with. This goes, not just for religion but cultural bias as well.

I though that maybe we could have a good discussion without flame. :(
It's true though that usually people take it personal.
