My game idea

I've been toying with the idea of writing a web-based mulitplayer strategy game which allows the player to run a motor-racing team.

I've decided on PHP as the language to do it all, after consulting others who have finished similar projects and hence I'm here. I know almost nothing about PHP, but am keen to learn.

If anyone would like to know more about my game idea, please look at the forum I have setup.

http://www.speedworx.org/phpBB2ps/

I would appreciate comments, ideas, advice from people either about coding or the actual game mechanics themselves.

Thanks.

Thanks,I found it and it was an interesting read.

I'm glad my idea is not an exact copy of it!

:D

I'm planning my effort will take several months to implement, but it's tough to set deadlines for yourself when you've an 18 month old daughter and another due in January! 8O

:D

I'll keep you posted!

So far I am working on the driver generator, which is about 25% done and also trying to work out PHP/MySQL which is not working!

Can I post problems with SQL on here or will you throw me off! :D

It would be better to post SQL questions/problems to Databases forum one at a time.

I wouldn't mind beta testing.

I've developed numerous web games, that was actually the reason I started PHP. ;)

So if you need someone for some bug testing and advice, give me a hollar.
