DSL Connection Manager?

Post by phice »

If anyone on here has DSL, what application do you use to connect to it? Because the one I use seems to be fouling up every 2-3 minutes. :|

I have ADSL based in Calgary, AB.

I use a 3Com "HomeConnect" Ethernet modem, my connection is always good with it, have no complaints there, but the problems happen with my ISP, ugh...

What do you mean by "application"?

there is a timing error in the via usb system... if your on win98 se or higher theres a fix, otherwise you have to buy a usb pci card...
i was using a fuji usb modem with mine and it kept powering down... cos im a tightwad im still on 98 1st ed so i had to buy a usb card (cheaper than buying xp or some such)

When I say application, I mean something that connects your computer to the DSL modem (not wiring), where you put in your username and password.

It works just for 3-4 minutes, but then just hangs there for 20-30 seconds, and then finally goes back to normal. This loops itself all the time. It's making me mad.. >:|

I'm using Efficent "EnterNet" version 300, and my dsl modem is an Efficent 5360 SpeedStream ADSL. Any help?

I don't really have the same setup as you then, what i do is install the moden (drivers and all), plug it into my phone line, and since the local phone company owns the best DSL provider around, the accounts just shared. Heh, i never really enter a username/password anywhere other than when i want to edit my webspace, yours is awfully different...

I think it had to do something with the Registry... I reinstalled windows, and it works absolutely fine. :D
