HI
All

I don;t know how I should start, because I am very poor in presenting things,
So I'll be brief. Many of us post some tricky question(s),
answers, innovative ways to solve a problems related to PHP in this fourm.
I felt that we can collect some of the most outstading topics from this forum
and why don;t we make a free ebook some thing similar to Subversion book
and distribute it to the users say something like "Devnetwork's PHP-FAQs"
it will be more helpful for the users for the reference.

I think it's a good idea. However, let's not make it a "Learn to Program PHP" type of book. Let's make it a "Improve Your Pro PHP Skills" type of book.

Yes i think there are too many get started books or tuts, but very few carry on and improve books or tuts. Gr8 idea, maybe do both...??

The problem with making it a just "improve your php skills" is that we have such a wide range of people learning php on here. In my personal opinion i think you'd be better off maybe having 2 sections or 2 books. 1 to learn php and 1 to improve.

Wasn't there already a web-based PHP book? Quick search turned up this: viewtopic.php?t=26602.

I agree completely with that statement. Even the so called advanced books are really just beginner books for people who know how to code in another language. Does anybody know of a book that actually speaks to people who already have a grasp of the language?
