How mutch $$$ should i ask for this job?

Greetings.
I've doing WebDesign for some time now, but now just appeared my first PHP job. And i dont really know how mutch should i ask for it.
It's for a conputers online store (orders by mail, no credit cards).
Besides the webdesign it self, and the need for graphically work on all the fotos (but i know how mutch $ should i ask for this part), i need to do the following:
- list of all products (around 300);
- list by category (printer, cd-rom, etc...);
- image, description, price of all products;
- to design the database configuration (i'm gonna use MySQL);
- to insert all those 300 products in the db;
- to send the order by e-mail to the store;
- an administration page, where the store owner can insert/delete new/old products;
Since he wants something "cheap", and he already had some proposals (that i dont know what they were) that considered expensive, i'd like to know what would be a fair price to ask?
What would be the minimum price, and what would be the exploiting price?
Just for checking
Thank you...

I would charge a minimun of $2,000-3,000 and $5,000 max
I usually charge $2,000 for a basic static website 10-20 pages.

if its not at least $2000 its not worth my troubles
anyone here thats done alot of work with clients can testify what a pain it is sometimes.
35% down the rest on delivery
people that charge a small amount of money take the business out of web development. its the same in any field
low ballers ruin their own fields.. sad but thats free market

Gath: How much is your time worth?
My time is worth $40/hour(min 10 hours/$400), with little room to negotiate. Why? Because I already have a job, and for me to have to spend my extra time, I want to be paid accordingly.
This doesn't always work for the customer, but it's how I play ball.
I look at it like this: If you walk into a market and buy some milk, do you walk up to the counter and ask them to lower the price? No, you pay for it. And you go to any other market, and the price is usually the same.
I also do flat rates, but those are done on a case by case basis.

1.00 GBP 1.55412 USD
United Kingdom Pounds = United States Dollars
1 GBP = 1.55412 USD 1 USD = 0.643453 GBP

My two cents:
A lot of you think that $40/ hr or that $2000 for a site is a lot of money. I would like to point out that age and perception of money go hand in hand. When I was ten years old $100 seemed like a lot of money. When I was sixteen $1000 seemed like a lot of money. Now that I am in my thirties $1000 doesn't cover my house payment let alone feed my family. Try to keep it in perspective and avoid lowballing just to get the job. There are a lot of us out there that do this to support our families and to loose a legitimate job because some teenager lowballed you to get a new PlayStation2 is very irritating.
Please take this in the spirit it is meant, I am not trying to offend anyone.

My cousin had his 8th birthday the other day and was sayig "I've now got £30 in my bank" and I said, "Well guess how much money I earnt yesterday doing a normal days work, £45" and he was very impressed. But then I could speak to probably my uncle and he would probably earn more like £450 a day, so it's all relative.

true stuff...
I think $40.- and hour sound about right for any regular freelancer. And do as jason... always set a minimum. And also for post webdesign support.. Like tell them... "I don't pick up the phone for less than $100.-" even if you call me for a 5 min job.
The thing to remember when freelancing is that you have to pay a lot of things yourself that normally an employer would do. Like health benifits/insurance and blabla
Also you have to be able to support yourself (and loved ones) when in between jobs.
That's why freelancers are epensive.

when I was 16 I would have done anything for $200
now ten years later I have other <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> going on in life and $200 isn't worth the hassle anymore.
