Does spamming ever actually work?
It drives me nuts I get about 100 spam email a day because my email address is webmaster@mycompany
Spammers will ruin honest email marketing campaigns to companies own customers in the future, heck even present.
I can't really see laws being passed that can handle all the variables of spamming.
What if you have a newsletter for 100 people and someone puts in their friends email address and you send out your newsletter and the person reports you for spamming? (obviously you can program and mail() function to validate, but you get my drift)
I just don't see anything on the horizon to stop spammers, dont' get me started on pop up ads or those damn websites that disable you from using your browsers BACK button, ugh

proxomitron works pretty good to stop the pop ups. and spam isn't so bad if you fry it and eat it like a hamburger.

Yes, spam works, but at the same time, what a lot of people consider spam isn't really spam. It's advertising that you opted to get when you signed up for a certain site that sells your emails.
But yes, spam does work.

thats what I'm saying Jason, spam to one isn't spam to another so I don't see a way to legally deal with it, although what I've adapted to is to have two email accounts, one for my friends, family, important info, and another for newsletters, spam, etc. my hotmail account gets about 75 spam emails a day.
jason is selling our email addresses to porn sites

no way, I'd rather have porn spam
I wonder if the company that makes real SPAM have seen sales increases or decreases since SPAM became a huge internet buzzword?

The Screen Savers (
techtv) had a poll on that one day, and they had a response of like 99% No, and 1% yes.
