Some system hardware questions!

Okay, so I have Grand Theft Auto: Vice City full version for PC.

When I play it, it is slow and choppy, so I have a question about a system upgrade.

These are the games minimum requirements:

----------------------------------------
800 MHz Intel Pentium III or 800 MHz AMD Athlon
or 1.2GHz Intel Celeron or 1.2 GHz AMD Duron processor

128 MB of RAM

32 MB video card with DirectX 9.0 compatible drivers
("GeForce" or better)
----------------------------------------

Here's what I have:

----------------------------------------
x86 Family 6 Model 11 Stepping 1 GenuineIntel ~1195 MHz

256 MB RAM

Video Card (I guess) Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller
----------------------------------------

My question is since roughly half of my RAM is constantly in use, would a simple RAM upgrade improve performance?
Or do I need a better processor or video card?

All three upgrades would make a big difference. I'd buy a better video card first, then more RAM, and finally a faster CPU. I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro, 512meg, and a 2GHz CPU, and Vice City plays really well..

Also, make sure you're using the latest versions of the drivers for your hardware.

definately get a new video card. GTA is a video monger when it comes to gfx... definately ram up to 512 ddr too...

other than that, you can change the options within GTA to turn off most weather, lower the resolution, and lower the detail. is the best way to go about it until you get the system you want...
