I was just wondering how many of you are self employed and how many work for someone in the 'daytime' and moon-light as a programmer.
No real reason except to see if there is a trend one way or the other.

What was the reason for leaving on your own?
I have done the same, but miss my personal work more and more as time moves on.

Nowadays, I'll be damned if I find time for personal sites...

I guess I sort of work for myself. Who in their right mind would hire a 12 year old, anyways?

I've seen a few 12 year olds take a job.. most of the time if you act professisonal they won't even think about your age .. not that is should matter

Wow! When i'm done with my current project, maybe I'll try out a short term job with someone. But I'm more interested in working individually or with people working for me.

Just don't expect to be making 50 USD on hour. You have to put in a lot of work and build up a solid portfolio. Once you've done that, then I would begin to raise your wages.
